Halloween in a Pandemic

When we think of Halloween, the first thought that enters our head is Trick or Treating. But this we have another horror among us, the Corona Virus. Doorbelling houses and asking for candy is a guaranteed way to be tested positive for Covid-19. This yearly holiday is set in the month of October, when the leaves turn crunchy under our shoes.

Here are 5 ways you can make your Spooky Season almost as fun without Trick or Treating.

1. Binge Watch Horror Movies with your Friends

Apps like Watch2Gether and Parsec allow you to create your own server and invite a large number of friends so you can all get creeped out together.

2. Read or Listen to Creepypastas

Creepypastas are stories or lores made by people and posted online to share a spooky experience. A mix of classic horror elements and modern storytelling, these are the internets version of Scary Stories. Jeff the Killer and the Slenderman are only the tip of the tip of the iceberg.  You can read them at creepypasta.com or, my personal favourite, have them narrated to you by CreepsMcPasta from Youtube

3. Have a Photoshoot

Dress up at home and have a great photo session to show off your costume under the full moon. Make sure to post on your social media handles

4. Bake some Brownie Spiders

Yeah you're missing out on your favourite candy this year, but don't miss out on treating yourself to some delicious Spider Brownies. Here's the Recipe

5. Play some Horror Games

There are lots of horror games available, but there are a lot of indie scary games available for free online. You can find a lot of great yet terrifying games at itch.io, an underrated and safe site for indie horror games.
